AFTERGLOW

There is a particular kind of tension that happens just before the light disappears completely. AFTERGLOW explores that moment through warmth, shadow, and restraint.

Photographed in deep amber tones, the story strips the setting down to its essentials: a dark silhouette, directional light, tousled hair, and a quiet expression that shifts between distance and confrontation. Rather than relying on elaborate styling, the editorial lets mood do most of the work.

Model Matei Vlascu brings a subdued intensity to the images. His presence feels less posed and more observed, as if each frame catches him somewhere between movement and stillness. The black wardrobe keeps the silhouette clean while the warm light pushes the photographs into something richer and more cinematic.

For photographer Radu Ionescu, the contrast is the point. Bright amber light cuts through heavy shadow, revealing just enough of the face, the texture of the hair, and the structure of the clothing before allowing the rest to fall away.

AFTERGLOW is not about excess. It is about atmosphere, the final trace of light, and the way a simple portrait can hold tension long after the moment has passed.
