YIN & YANG

Built around the tension between opposites, Yin & Yang explores the relationship between structure and movement, severity and softness, black and white. Photographed by Mo Huilan and featuring model Lu Chen, the editorial strips the palette back to its most elemental form, allowing silhouette, proportion, and texture to lead the story.

The wardrobe is deliberately architectural. Cropped tailoring, exaggerated shoulders, pleating, elongated lines, and sculptural layers create garments that initially appear rigid and controlled. Yet nothing feels static. Fabric falls, folds, separates, and reconnects across the body, allowing each look to move naturally despite its precision.

That contrast becomes the foundation of the story. Black absorbs the light while white reflects it. Sharp tailoring meets exposed skin. Hard geometric surroundings are offset by fluid poses and subtle movement. Rather than treating black and white as opposing forces, Yin & Yang considers how each becomes stronger in the presence of the other.

Lu Chen’s restrained presence completes the visual language, bringing an almost sculptural quality to the images without allowing the clothes to overwhelm the person wearing them. The result is an editorial about balance rather than excess, where fashion becomes an exercise in line, shadow, proportion, and quiet tension.
