Introducing NÜREN

After a two-year hiatus, we are thrilled to announce the revival of our women's edition, reimagined and reborn under a powerful new identity: NÜREN.

Formerly known as Period Women, we felt that after two years of evolution—both within the industry and within ourselves—it was time for a fresh chapter. The name NÜREN (女人) translates simply to "Women" in Chinese. It is a title that feels both grounded and expansive, honoring our roots while looking toward a global future.

To helm this new era, we turned to Mykel Rosen, who steps in as NÜREN’s Editor-in-Chief. For our debut Issue 001, Mykel took on the ambitious task of not only leading the editorial vision but personally shooting the cover story.

The result is a striking visual exploration of identity, structure, and color.

The Concept: Armor and Fluidity

For the cover shoot, Mykel envisioned a concept that stripped away the noise of modern fashion to focus on the silhouette. The imagery features a model with a bold, architectural bob in varying shades of electric pink, striking blue, and vivid red.

The styling is a fusion of hard and soft—rigid, high-gloss collars and black leather gloves contrasting against the softness of skin and the fluidity of white tailored trousers. It is a visual representation of the modern woman: structured, powerful, and unapologetically vibrant.

Asian Influence, Global Perspective

Being based in China, it was crucial for Issue 001 to reflect the aesthetic environment that surrounds us. The looks featured in this editorial are heavily influenced by the avant-garde movement currently surging through Asian design houses.

From the geometric, almost architectural haircuts to the deconstructed tailoring, the style pays homage to the Asian designers who are currently redefining global silhouettes. There is a distinct focus on shape over ornamentation—creating garments that act as armor. The bold makeup (featuring graphic, blocked-out brows) mirrors the precision often found in traditional Asian aesthetics, modernized for the digital age.

This is not just a relaunch; it is a homecoming. We are proud to present NÜREN—a publication for the bold, the refined, and the modern woman.
